Our Farmers: The Vassals of Farmelot

Farmelot was created by Farmer James and Dr. Bruce Balgooyen many years ago to demonstrate the benefit of regenerative agriculture in caring for the land, and to put the “culture” back into agri-culture. By utilizing field research and scientific vegetable trials, Farmelot works in harmony with the earth’s seasons to provide an abundant variety of superior-quality crops. Derek Pan, Tristan Lake, Joseph Wolfe, Rebecca Peake, and other Farmelot Farmers have joined in Farmelot’s quest: to reconnect communities to their local foods by demonstrating the social, economic, and cultural benefits of small, sustainable agriculture. All Farmelot farmers have dedicated themselves to farming and the art of natural food. According to legend, the farmers of Farmelot can farm their way out of anything.
